As a Spectre Tour Guide, you will deliver our Ghost Tour leading groups on a walking tour across historic Oxford over the course of an evening. A Spectre Tour Guide will enthral our guests with some of the most ghoulish tales this city has to offer and beguile them with tricks and illusions. Your performance will ensure that our guests have an exceptional experience and take away lasting memories.

Using a mix of expert knowledge and humour, you will be performing scripted content with an injection of your own creative flair.

We are looking for people who enjoy being centre stage and bags of personality is a must, an interest in history and stories of the paranormal is also beneficial to the role. The ideal candidate will have experience of orchestrating groups of people and will be able to safely guide a large group across the city.

An Applicant must be able to learn a 90-minute tour around Oxford detailing the City’s gruesome history and ghost stories that is supplemented by a selection of basic magic tricks/illusions to supplement the tour content.

A successful candidate will:

• Have experience of performing or presenting to a varied group.
• Be confident at controlling a group in Oxford City Centre.
• Be an engaging, enthusiastic and confident public speaker.
• Be comfortable with lone working.
• Be responsible for their own and their guests’ safety and be able to call the emergency services if needed.
• Be able to work Saturday evenings and the occasional Friday to cover team absence or sickness.

Contract: zero-hour contract – A successful applicant will work a minimum of 2 hours per week but there may be the option for more through private bookings. Working Weekends & Bank Holidays included

Tours: These tours will be taking place at 18:30 on Saturdays, with the occasional cover of tours on Fridays at 18:30.

Salary: £9.60 per hour
