THE TOUR
Step inside one of Oxford’s most fascinating historic sites and experience over 1,000 years of history together.
Located in the heart of the city, Oxford Castle & Prison offers groups a unique journey through centuries of stories - from Viking invasions and the Norman conquest to the realities of Georgian and Victorian justice.
Led by one of our knowledgeable costumed guides, your group will explore the Castle’s remarkable past and uncover the stories of the people who lived, worked and were imprisoned here.
Along the way, you’ll discover how the site connects to the early development of education in Oxford and hear the tales of some of the Castle’s most notorious residents.
