Oxford is easily accessible by road and rail, and Oxford Castle & Prison is situated a short five minute walk away from the train and coach stations.
We are a short 10 minute walk away from Oxford Train Station. Oxford rail station has regular links to London (60 minutes) and all major UK cities.

Oxford is connected to London, the M25 and the Midlands by the M40, and the Oxford ring road provides direct access to Southampton, Portsmouth and Bristol via the A34.

Regular Oxford Tube coach links run from central London (120 minutes). Oxford Bus Company run coaches from Heathrow (80 minutes) and Gatwick (120 minutes) airports. For coach links from other major UK cities, please visit National Express.
For groups and schools: A coach drop off point is located on Beaumont Street (westbound) – just outside the Playhouse (OX1 2LW). There is coach parking is available at Redbridge Park and Ride. Coach Permits for Oxford: A coach permit is required to access areas of Oxford as such, a permit is needed to access prohibited areas. For the latest information about these restrictions and how to obtain a permit, please visit the Oxfordshire.gov.uk website
If you’re travelling by car, we highly recommend the use of Oxford’s five Park & Ride car parks, which have frequent bus links into the city centre. The closest Park & Rides are Seacourt and Redbridge. For more information, please check the dedicated website.
Car parks can be found at Westgate Shopping Centre, Oxpens, Worcester Street and Gloucester Green and are all a short walking distance from Oxford Castle & Prison. Coach parking is available at Redbridge Park and Ride. All long-term coach parking has moved from Oxpens to Redbridge due to the Westgate development.
