Due to the historical nature of the building Prams & Pushchairs do not fit through our doors, so they need to be left in the reception area where they will be looked after by a member of our team.
St George’s Tower has 101 steps on a steep, narrow and winding staircase. Visitors unable to climb St. George’s Tower may wait at the bottom of the tower in the seating area. A short film will be put on to show you the views and stories you may have missed. You will then be able to rejoin your group and continue with your tour throughout the castle.
Yes guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed within the prison and the Mound. However, for health and safety reasons, no dogs are allowed to climb St. George’s Tower.
