Meet Santa and his elves on our Christmas Trail, and discover the secrets of the Castle and Prison on a lantern-led tour.
Santa is coming to town! meet Father Christmas and enjoy some fun festive activities at Oxford Castle & Prison.
On arrival you’ll be greeted by one of Santa’s Castle elves before being taken into the base of St. Georges Tower, home to over 1,000 years of history. You will then be taken to our 900 year old Norman crypt where another one of Santa’s elves will talk you through how to make wildlife friendly reindeer food that you can take away with you ready for the big day itself. Afterwards take a walk through the old Victorian Prison wing where you can make your very own Christmas Tree bauble and for the adults, you’ll get to try a sample of mead.
Then it is time to meet the big man himself, each family gets to spend some time with Santa who will give out a pre-Christmas present. One of the elves will capture a festive photo which will be available to purchase afterwards.
At the end of the trail you will have some time to write a wish and hang it on our very own wish tree.
Enjoy some treats as you walk around meeting the elves and Santa.
Please note that the experience does not include access to the top of St George’s Tower as we are unable to provide access to children under 5.
