Wild Goose Theatre presents: Twelfth Night

Wild Goose Theatre presents: Twelfth Night – outdoors in the Oxford Castle & Prison Courtyard!

SOLD OUT

If music be the food of love, play on;
Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken, and so die.
That strain again! it had a dying fall:
O, it came o’er my ear like the sweet sound,
That breathes upon a bank of violets,
Stealing and giving odour!

Following their successful and critically acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet, Wild Goose Theatre returns to the Oxford Castle and Prison for the 14th year with one of Shakespeare’s best loved plays.

Twelfth Night is one Shakespeare’s great comedies. Separated from her twin brother Sebastian in a shipwreck, Viola disguises herself as a boy, calls herself Cesario, and becomes a servant to the Duke Orsino. A romantic story with mistaken identities, practical jokes, music, dance and song.

Wet Weather Policy

In case of an outdoor Shakespeare performance being abandoned or cancelled due to bad weather, the performance will move to the New Baptist Church on Bonn Square. This is a 5-minute walk from the castle towards the city centre, a pleasant space which we have been using as our wet weather contingency in previous summers. Members of our company will escort ticket holders from the box office at the Castle. You are welcome to make your own way to the Church if you prefer.
