Oxford Castle at 950 Years! – SOLD OUT

A huge milestone is coming this November as Oxford Castle & Prison celebrates 950 years of history! We’ve held infamous residents, served time as a religious site, a home for royalty, a centre of justice and as the County Gaol.

To commemorate this anniversary there will be a son et lumière show where there will be a stunning projection onto the Castle which will bring to life our rich and fascinating history. The projection will be 7 minutes long played continuously between 6pm – 10pm.

This unique and free event is a part of the Humanities Cultural Programme and is a collaboration between several key partners: Oxford Preservation Trust and the Oxford Castle Committee; Oxford Castle and Continuum; researchers through TORCH in the Humanities Division, University of Oxford.
